Q:  Are these books really different from other children’s books on the market?

A:  We believe there is no other book like this available. We provide a personalized family storybook that allow grandparents and other family members to interact with young children in a unique way. The photo face stickers provide an experience that both reader and child participate in together. The event will be remembered for a long time by both the adult reader and the child!

Q:  How should stickers be placed in the book as I’m reading it to a grandchild?

A:  Make sure it’s a quiet time when your grandchild will pay attention. Your focus should be on reading (and embellishing) each story page as you remove the photo stickers and hand them to your grandchild for placement in the book. The intent is to read the book with your grandchild so you participate together! Take your time! As you read each page, add story details you believe are important to embellish your personal “stories” about experiences you had together. 

Q:  What materials are used to construct the book and photo face stickers?

A:  We realize that young preschool children often bite and lick things. The pages in the book are made of restaurant-quality, heavy-duty paper (100# premium matte) and won’t harm a child if he (or she) tries to lick the pages. Each book is 20 pages long and we use “saddle stitch” rather than “perfect bound construction for the book spine. “Saddle stitch” is stapled while “perfect bound” is glued. The reason we use “saddle stitch” is because its a heavier-duty construction, and each book can be opened and closed many times so it stands up to more abuse, which can happen with young children. We have tried to construct a book that will last a long time!

Our stickers are laser printed on high quality gloss paper made specifically for sticker printing. They should maintain the image for a long time. They also have a permanent adhesive so the face stickers, once placed, will stay in the book and not fall off the pages. They can be moved (sometimes) shortly after they are initially placed, but will end up permanently attached after a short time.

Q: What if the face stickers aren’t placed in the correct spots?

A:  It doesn’t really  matter! The joy of this experience is to be silly and laugh. The important thing is that you are bonding with a young child. Have fun while placing stickers in the book together and create your own stories as you move through the pages. 

Q: What if face stickers are left over?

A:  We created this book so you will receive extra face stickers.  We’ve also included two STICKER PLAYGROUND pages for additional sticker placement.  Your grandchild can put extra stickers in the book the next time you read it, or can stick them on the bonus Thinking Of You memory cards we’ve included with your package. The idea is that your grandchild will have a memory of you both reading the book together, as well as photo images of the two of you. 

Q: Can other people read this book to a child?

A:  This book can be read by a parent (or any other family member) to a grandchild when a grandparent is coming to visit, or even after a visit.  It provides a way to let your grandchild know who their grandparent is before he (or she) walks through the door.  Ot, each book can be used to introduce (or re-introduce) grandkids to grandparents they may not see often. The photo face stickers help greatly in assisting young children to remember faces and names!

Q: Will there be other books that can help other family members connect with a young child?

A:  Yes! It’s our intent to create additional books that include sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, and other family members. Everyone loves connecting with young children.  These books will all be interactive and fun!

Q: What are the best ages for children to enjoy this book? 

A:  We believe the best ages are from 2 – 5 years old.  Children enjoy putting stickers in books, but they must be old enough to understand what they are doing.  A child older than 5 may like playing with stickers, but it all depends on the individual child.  You are the best person to determine the age for your grandchild or child to positively interact with this book. 

Just remember that kids aren’t always accurate when they put stickers on a piece of paper.  That’s part of the fun you will have when you play with them. It’s also a part of the learning experience!

Q: Why was this book created? 

A:  We believe it can be difficult to maintain connections with long-distance family members. There are other ways to interact with children, such as Skype* or FaceTime*. However, to truly connect, you need to engage in an activity that is enjoyable and involves both individuals. We found that putting personalized stickers in a children’s storybook provides a true bonding experience. It’s also a way to introduce young children about the fun aspects of reading. while telling stories they can connect with.

We developed these books to help grandparents create and maintain relationships when they’re not able to be with their grandchildren on an ongoing basis. 

Q: How long will it take to get my book after I order it?

A:  It generally will take 4 to 7 days from the day you order the book.  It’s necessary to print the sticker pages from the images you submit with your order.  Once printed, we will send the book with your face sticker pages as soon as possible.

Q: Can I remove the stickers from the book once they are put in and re-use them?

A:  Many sticker types were considered (and tested) before we selected the high quality gloss-finish stickers shipped with your book. We found removable stickers did not work very well.  The pictures would degrade when peeling them off and sometimes the page paper would tear.  The stickers you receive have a gloss finish so they reproduce face images very well and are non-removable after they are placed in the book. We found they work best this way.
